Gingerbread Recipe!!

I've had some request for my gingerbread recipe...I think I might have gotten this recipe from Melanie King (a pen pal I use to write to) After losing contact for 6 years she recently found my blog....Is it yours Melanie??

1/4 cup butter
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. light or dark molasses
1/2 c. white sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. water
I used whole peppercorns for my eyes and buttons
I also used a straw for the hole at the top and a big needle ( in case the hole fills back up while baking) and cording.... if a peppercorn comes off then I used some elmer's glue to just glue it back in place...

Blend butter and sugar til fluffy....Beat in molasses...Blend in dry ingredients alternating with water using 1/4 c.water each time...Dough should be very stiff...(If it's too creamy add flour)....Bake at 350 for 20 minutes....(COOKIES ARE NOT GOOD FOR EATING)....Have fun!!!!

I've used this recipe before and it makes wonderful ornaments. I lost it when I moved from the old house, thank you so much for sharing it. I will be making some this year now.

Blessings,
Sallie
