Words cannot express the heartache from losing my nephew 4 years ago at the hands of someone he thought was a friend...A so called friend who chose to aim a loaded gun at him...He would have been 17 years old now and halfway through his senior year....On December 29th 2010, he left this world...He will forever be missed and loved....Until we meet again Little Rob....

His last art project.....I will forever think of him when I see a butterfly....

Merry Christmas 2014.......

Merry Merry Merry Christmas!! I'm a bit behind this year, but I could look at Christmas pictures anytime of the year....I kept it simple this year and I'm still enjoying my trees with orange slices and white lights along with my greenery and Arnett Santas...I took all the ornaments off the trees and put away other Christmas items....A part of me wants to pack it all up and do a good cleaning and the other part of me wants to enjoy it a bit longer...I've been known to take it all down on the 26th....But for now I'm content and enjoying what I've left up...I've really been enjoying some down time with my family, pajama days, movies, snacking, etc....It recharges my batteries for the new year....

I hope you are enjoying the remaining days of this year!

I spent the day doing some rearranging to prepare for Christmas decorating...Still lots more to do!

Doing some rearranging today to prepare for Christmas decor....I took my work supplies off this shelf made out of old wood and laid it in the floor on it's side...I had it here before, but moved it after Christmas last year...I put my old child's chair that Tim bought me on our 25th anniversary trip last year on it...A mixture of autumn and Christmas~a little pumpkin boy sitting in a bowl of gourds and a little primitive tree...

I found them!!!! I stitched these years ago and had misplaced them...They weren't with my Christmas decor...I found them today when i was going through some things...They were always one of my favorites to put in an old wooden bowl and some greenery for Christmas...I don't remember what I stiffened them with, but they are as hard as rocks...I don't remember the book I got the pattern from...Maybe i will come across it also....

Good Morning, my friends! It is a cold 32 this morning....Way below our normal temps here in our part of Georgia for this time of the year...Things are in full swing...We have had a rough couple of weeks as my husband had surgery and is 2 weeks and 4 days post op...Recovery is up to 12 weeks, but so glad he had the surgery...He had been in pain since the beginning of August and we found it was a bulging disc...Surgery was the final alternative after trying other things...So glad it is behind us as we work toward some normalcy and the holidays...

So, on Sunday i decided to start putting out my trees and white lights...I have found in recent years that if i don't start the trees this early that i usually finish my decorating right before Christmas and have no time to sit back and enjoy it...I enjoy the mixture of my autumn decor and the sweetness of the twinkling lights throughout the house...No ornaments or Christmas decor til after Thanksgiving though! Just a simple tree with white lights and orange slices...Today i will be working in other areas of the house and garage pulling out old wooden crates  and trees...What a wonderful way to spend this cold day! I think I will make myself some sugar free hot chocolate and get started!

I hope you all have a blessed day!

Letting go, Accomplishments, and Charleston, SC living.....

Good Morning Friends!! I hope you're having a lovely morning....I wanted to pop in and do some sharing with you of our final trip we made this summer out of four....Yes, it was a busy one...This trip was made the Thursday before school started for Luke...So that was the end of July...If you remember, Taylor, our oldest, moved out last July after graduating with her Graphics Arts degree and moved 3 hours away to Charleston, South Carolina....Yes, it was with many mixed emotions for this momma and i went on faith that God has (and still is) a shield of protection over her as she feels her way through her path in life...I'm SO GLAD she did it! She has always wanted to live there since she was 16 years old or younger....And as i told her and reassured her daddy "Now was the time!" After you start a job and your life you can't just put life on hold to go find your dreams...So, if she was going to do it then now was the time...Well, after a year of tears, learning, growing, sometimes stumbling, along with lots of laughs and accomplishments I'M SO GLAD SHE DID IT! She has amazed me and made me pull my hair out sometimes in the same week...lol...But I'm soooooo proud of her....She went from having no job when she went (we were going on faith) to moving up in a wonderful job, has gotten a couple raises, does graphic work for them also, and also sells her own cards she designs in their stores....So looking back we survived!! Her and I both! I miss her dearly every day, but I have my own life and things going on and when we chat we are genuinely so glad to hear each others voices...

So, when their apartment lease was up they had already lined up moving into a house across the street...An 1884 downtown Charleston house...So the move was easier that it was across the street, but the rains poured and we did ALOT of waiting and didn't get to start moving til that night...And did I mention 3 flights of stairs...I'm so thankful my husband works out...lol...Needless to say we were exhausted that night on the drive back home...We arrived home at 2 am for Tim to sleep a few hours before heading to work....I pray that this isn't a yearly thing...lol

So, I wanted to share some of the pics i took as I was walking around...Taylor kept telling me leading up to the move "Momma, you're going to love this house!"

So, this is downtown Charleston, SC living.......
