Do you ever tire of seeing my fireplace?....Well, I was going through old pictures and I want you to focus on the pottery....When I got it it sat on my faux fireplace til I decided where I wanted it to go...But you'd never know unless you were really up close that 2 of them arrived like this and the other had a hairline crack...With a lot of patience and glue they are together....They are still some of my favorite pieces....And the ebayer couldn't have packed it any better....Until next time!!~~hugs, Jen

A Primitive Shop To Share.......

This is "The Backyard Barn" owned and run by Janet Lybrand...Located at 304 Redds Branch Rd...Aiken, SC....Open Friday and Saturday 10 am to 3 pm...

This is the primitive shop that Dana and I went to the weekend before Christmas...At the time Janet was having a 50% off Christmas sale and a 30% off regular items...See a bunch of my goodies laying on the counter?!?...

It is the cutest shop right beside her home...It is packed with goodies just for you to take home!!

Oh, by the way!...I hate pictures of myself!!..UGH!..
There's a pic of Dana and her goodies she picked out!!..Along with a pic of me and Dana!

I can't wait to go back another day!!...It was fun!!

Until next time!!~~hugs, Jen

Here are some items I got back before Christmas when Dana and I went to a country/primitive shop she shops at in South Carolina....I guess you could say that I treated myself to some early Christmas gifts!!..And the bee skep was given to me as a gift from the shop owner...In my next post I will show you pics of the shop...Until next time...~~hugs, Jen

Ok...Sorry no pics this time...Just wanted to share that I got THE phone call...I looked at the phone and it said "Country Sampler"...I yell for Taylor to get Luke and I run to the bedroom and shut the door so I can hear...Our home will be in the "May issue" and the phone interview will be next week when Taylor will be home to intertain Luke, so I can have a phone conversation...Soooooo exciting!!!...

Back to my dusting!....I wore my Cinderella slippers for a few minutes and floated a few feet off the ground...Now back to the real world!!

Until next time!!~~hugs, Jen

Some new goodies....

I wanted to share some goodies that I got from my sweet friend, Karen from KM PRIMITIVES and MY COLONIAL HOME blog...Karen was having a sale right after Christmas and I snagged these goodies...I got them the day I was really started to get sick with the flu, so they are still sitting on my farmhouse table looking just like the first pic...I thought I'd paint them so you couldn't see the stockings, but I really love the old drabby mustard finish.... So I will display them with something in them or facing the other way so no one will see the stockings anyway....And the prim fixins look wonderful!!...I can't wait til Thanksgiving to see what other goodies that Karen will have to offer again when she has her in-home show...In the meantime pop over and see all her wonderful goodies she offers...

Until next time!!~~hugs, Jen

I'M BACK!!...I THINK....

Hi everyone!...Just a quick note( if Luke lets me) to let you know I'm back among the living....I have felt so bad for over a week that I wasn't sure what normal felt like....Now I'm left with a horrendous cold...Luke and I slept alot and watched tv alot....I hated that he was sick also, but it allowed me to rest, too....Thanks everyone for your kind comments of well wishes and emails!!!...They meant so much!!...I'm still not 100%, but hopefully soon....

I wanted to share a pic of some Valentine offerings that will be available later this week...I'm trying to give everyone a headsup...I have so many emails from sweet people wanting to know when I will post offerings, because sometimes they sell fast...So I'm hoping to at least post them by Wednesday or Thursday night...I will let you know ahead of time!!...My Valentine offerings will be limited...It takes quite a bit of time working on the boxes and I want them to get to you so you can enjoy them leading up to Valentines and after....I would have already had them on if I hadn't gotten sick...I will also have some Valentine pinkeeps available also....I've never done Valentines before except for myself, so I'm enjoying doing them to offer to you!!

Being sick really has slowed my work down to nothing...I WAS going through things and getting alot done...I have a stack of x-stitch patterns ready to plunge into for this new year...A lot of them I have never done before after having them for at least several years already...I also have samplers I want to get done for myself this year for my home...So you can journey along with me!!...So hopefully I will feel up to the task before too long....

Have a good evening my friends!!~~hugs, Jen

UGH!!!!!...Every nerve in my body hurts...The week started with Taylor sick...Then Luke started running fever and I kept praying that I wouldn't, but yesterday i had some aches...I tried to ignore them...But this morning there was NO ignoring them and I have felt so bad all day...One minute I'm hot...One minute I'm cold....Really bad headaches that aren't going away...So that is why I haven't been on here this week...I mean is it possible to have massive chills under an electric throw and another blanket on high?????...Then I get hot and it starts all over again...Taylor said she had aches for several days and the headaches also...Is it too much for this too go away????...Mom can't be sick!!!...And I had a flu shot!!!...UGH!...So hopefully I'll be back on here soon...Really soon!!!~~hugs, Jen

This is my newly decorated work area...Yes, work area...or at least one of them...This is where I sit back in my lazy Boy recliner and stitch away....I usually have the side table piled high and surrounded with patterns, fabric, etc...But this new year I'm trying the one pattern at a time approach and leave the mess on my work table...

Tim spray painted the candle stick...It is the same one I got at Myrtle Beach last April and it was red...I put some evergreen mixture in it that I got from my sweet friend, Karen (KM Primitives), back after she had her show in November...along with a battery candle I also got from Karen...

I put a quilt scrap in a frame...I have one of my blue painted boxes on the bottom stack...I put cough drops and chocolates I want to hide in it...(oops, Mr. taylors*farmhouse*attic reads my blog...).. my needle boxes I make on top along with my needles pinkeep...and finally a small candle...

Then I have a bowl of hearts and scraps of blue quilts and a piece of coverlet in a wooden bowl...Who says Valentine's has to be red??!!??~~hugs, Jen

I thought I'd start out this new year of 2010 with sharing a new arrangement in my gathering room and one of my favorite decorating addictions~ primitive chairs....

For now, I'm not putting my grandmother's old trunk back in front of this window and I just have some of my primitive chairs, folk dolls, and I folded out my display rack to display some more of my stockings I made....it's a refreshing change since taking down the Christmas decor....The house seems so much bigger and clean....A fresh start for the new year...

I don't know about you, but I've been taking mental notes of new projects for the next few months....Changes and ideas on going more primitive in my decorating...This time last year I was making plans to start painting the house..Thank goodness I'm not having to think about that this year...I'm thinking this new year about stenciling....New samplers...redoing some areas....getting rid of some items and buying new....I'm going to be more selective this year in what I buy....plans on new items for my selling blog....What about you??...
