A Sampler In Progress.....

Yes, it's in progress...I finished the border last night while we were watching a western with Tim Selleck in it....I LOVE westerns and the scenery was awesome....I kept thinking about my ancestors living back then...And it was also nice to just spend time together since Tim didn't get home til after 9 while the movie didn't go off til midnight...He has been working on Taylor's new used car we got her....A PT Cruiser, but that is a story for another time....So I plan on starting on the cabin tonight....

Until next time!!!~~hugs, Jen

A New Primitive Table..........

Good Friday evening!...Whew!..It has been a busy week...I'm ready to stay home a while after making 4 trips everyday out of this house and sometimes 5 picking up and taking my children to school and work...And the heat and mugginess is ridiculous!!!....I can't believe how muggy it is at 8:30 in the morning!!!..But I did see on the news a 88 for 2 days this week...Oh, now that is a cold blast here in GA this time of the year and subject to change!!!lol

Two weeks ago, Taylor (my 20 year old) called from work and asked if I wanted to go to Hobby lobby and Panera Bread after she got off....And I decided that while we were out that we needed to go to the antique store that we hadn't been to since last October...

To make a long story short, I've been wanting a small table to put in front of this window...I saw it after my first time through because the man was rearranging his booth....At first, I thought it might be too small and fussed at myself for not measuring the area for just this reason....So, I proceeded to go through the whole store and then come back to see if i saw any others...Nope!..No others that were primitive...So I kept passing back by it because he was in his booth and I didn't want to let on I was REALLY interested....But finally I gathered my nerve and asked if he would take $10 less than the asking price...Which was BIG for me because I've never haggled before...He looked at the tag and said he was firm on the price, but he would give it to me for $10 less....SOLD!!!!...YEAH!....So that is my story!!...I finally have a primitive table for that spot and it is the perfect size after all...So what do you think??

And on the way home Taylor asked how she was going to get all her bags in because she is suppose to be saving money and NOT spending all of it...I told her I just had my small bag of x-stitch fabric....She replied really quick "AND A TABLE!!!"....YEP, I THINK he'll notice that...LOL...But all is well with that little primitive table in my 1550 square foot primitive house...:)

Until next time!!~~hugs, Jen

Autumn in Grundy Co 1865 Sampler in the works......

No pictures for this post...After several emails inquiring about it I just wanted to let you know I'm working on a new Autumn sampler....It is titled "AUTUMN in Grundy Co. Tn 1865"....It will fit in a 12" x 12" frame that you can purchase unfinished at Hobby Lobby...It will have a cabin, wagon, pumpkins, trees, corn stalks, etc....

Grundy County is on Monteagle Mountain....The mountain you have to go over to travel from Chattanooga to Nashville or vice versus....My mom grew up there and I visited often during my years growing up.....

I will be charting this sampler also, but I have to get it stitched first....I'm working on it in the evenings...I look forward to the finished design as I stitch as I go and I never know how it is actually going to turn out....

Have a good evening, my friends!!~~hugs,Jen

A New Primitive Halloween Sampler..............

Hi everyone!...I hope you're having a restful Sunday!...Sorry it has been so long since I last posted...Life just got in the way!...I was busy stressing about getting my 3 year old ready to start back to school for his speech classes...He goes for a little over 2 hours each morning...I HATE having to send him this young, and it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to leave him in tears and screaming every morning...I only pray it gets easier!!

He missed the first 2 days due to a tummy virus he had all last weekend til Tuesday...

And then we have been trying to get our sleep times turned around....I was staying up til 3 am or 4 am working on stuff after I told myself I wouldn't be doing..But old habits are hard to break!...I've always been a night person!!...So now it's up at 7:20....A big change!

But I have been working on a new Halloween design that I'm going to chart for a pattern.....I just finished it up last night...It is a primitive table sampler...Or it could be made into a pillow....

I'm starting on my next sampler when I get off of here...Then charting hopefully this week as we get use to our new schedules and get to a routine around here...

Until next time!!~~hugs, Jen
