A Special Day.......

Thirteen years ago on this day I was at the hospital getting ready for a simple procedure to remove part of my thyroid....Hours later the news that cancer was found...6 months to a year survival was told to my husband and parents...I wasn't told til 2 days later and my journey began...How do you wrap your mind around that news? What do you do? What do you say? The look on my husband's face... The tears in my momma's eyes... Hearing my daddy cry...My siblings sitting with me and making me laugh...Family coming...Family leaving and the quiet almost unbearable...More tests... 2nd opinion...Another surgery...Chemo... No hair...Tim reading the Bible to me because the chemo affected my eyesight...Momma sitting up with me when I was in so much pain from chemo...My best friend JoAnn coming...Radiation...Lost my voice and they didn't know if it would come back...GOD Blessed me with people all along the way...And when I was alone GOD was there with me...HE gave me a peace that ONLY HE CAN GIVE... He had other plans... Thirteen years later I have my 8 yr old, Luke... I can speak and sing again...My heart is so full and thoughts are jumbled...I'm just sooooooooooooo thankful to be here today with the friends, family, and the life I have...I'm so BLESSED!!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your gratitude for God's blessings with us. I believe God put it on your heart to share today. I know it has helped and inspired me -- my daughter is beginning a journey to find out the cause of symptoms she is having. I received your post as a blessing from God today. Thank you and thank you again.

God is so good Jen and we need to shout it to the roof tops and let everyone know. Scares me so many are not listening any more. So happy for you and your family. You know, blogging is a witness and that is one reason I blog.

Jen: I just found your blog and love it. Not only because of the lovely primitives I see, but because of the country hymns. Hymns that I grew up with but no longer hear in churchs. Thank you for sharing your stories and faith.

I had thyroid cancer 9 years ago, but my experience was nowhere as terrifying as yours. I'm so glad you are a survivor!!!!

Yes you are and we are so thankful for you and your blog. You must live where there is rain, here in California we have no green lawns or pretty hydrangeas...so sad!!

You are such an inspiration to us all. I have the highest respect for you and your faith in God, but especially your inner strength. I love your blog spot and visit it frequently. Your decorating style and simple honesty makes it one of my favorites. May God continue to bless you and increase your joy! Happy fall, 2015!
