I'm busy busy busy on this Wednesday afternoon....I finally made it back to my work table...I have 10 sampler/pinkeep/pillows to finish up...One of the offerings has 9 separate pinkeep/bowl fillers to the set...
I've been busy in the house the past several weeks...Trying to keep my mind busy...The time I had been anticipating and dreading finally came...Now, it's time for a new normal in my life...My first born moved out and is now in Charleston, SC...The historical city she has loved and wanted to move to since she was 17...Two and a half to three hours away from her momma depending on the traffic...ha!ha! She is smack dab in downtown Charleston in the culture and history of that magical city...
So, we moved her and left her with the promise that she can come back home if it's not what she expected...Each day has been met with challenges with working 2 jobs, downtown parking, downtown flooding, etc...We are into our 3rd week and it feels like 6 months...Taylor even says it does...And no, we haven't gone for a visit yet...But what better city to be able to visit and have mini vacations in....Thanksgiving in Charleston this year!
As of now, I haven't done anything to Taylor's room...I do plan to get the yellow walls gone and replace them with a warm white with taupe trim to match the rest of the house...I have put some of my extra primitive items in there sitting randomly just to make the room not empty...It was hard walking by it and it just bare...A part of me hopes she comes back and a part of me hopes Charleston is all she has ever hoped for and more....:)
So, in the meantime I'm adjusting to our new normal schedule with Mr. Taylor's Farmhouse, Luke being in 1st grade, Upward soccer starting, and working on Fall offerings...We're into our 4th week of school already....
All I can say is THANK GOODNESS for facebook and the computer...It makes it feel like she isn't as far away when we have constant contact....Like when she calls to ask where something is in a store instead of asking a clerk....Or when she wants to know step by step how to cook something...Or when she calls to just let me know how her day went...I can pretend she is not so far away...But then a child is never too far away from their momma's heart...
From the Farmhouse~~hugs, Jen

That first semester is so challenging for the child and the parent. I was always glad when Jessica came home but with her came loads of laundry. Your right what better place to be than Charleston. Beautiful place.

Giant hugs love and prayers.
I am a mama to three my last child just bought his first home.
I miss him horribly.
I am now a true empty nester.
I think I need a new puppy.
Woolie Blessings
Thinking of you...know it is terribly hard when a child moves out. I kept telling myself that they have to "spread their wings' but still it hurt and I missed each one. I hope you keep your chin up and I really hope you see her often. Prayers tonight for you and Taylor.

It is sad to see them leave home. Laken has spread her wings a bit. Two jobs & her fellow. Thankfully she has not spread her wings completely. She comes home in between each day. I'm working on a plan to encourage her to unspread her wings. Sectioning a part of our home for her an apartment. It has been 13 months since we lost Lucas. Our home is so quiet & I miss him beyond measure. Sam is my last full time nester with plans for the army. Your creations are always amazing. Plans for Taylor's room sound lovely & the standing agreement if she likes to come home is wonderful. Wishing you a beautiful fall & lots of vacations at Taylor's. Blessings!

You gave your daughter two precious gifts: roots and wings
Aw, so bittersweet! My oldest is a sr in high school so we have not experienced this yet but your post brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful to see them out on their own, but like you... I would be fine with them coming back. Many hugs to you~
