Greenery and red berries for January decorating.....

I've been playing with greenery...All my Christmas has been grouped in Taylor's old bedroom to be sorted through...All that is up is my big tree with only white lights and dried orange slices, greens, and 3 small trees....I'm going to try something new and leave my greens, red berries, and 3 little trees out throughout the month of January to chase away the January blahs! So far I'm loving it instead of a stark feeling house...Does anyone else do this?

Hi Jen,
Yes, I leave a couple of small trees out and some greenery....otherwise January in the house can seem dull and boring!! I put out some snowmen as well. Then, I really like to decorate for Valentine's Day.... don't ask me why b/c I don't know!! But that is my routine! Everything in your house is always so lovely. Happy New Year!

I've always kept up all of Christmas until the weekend after... thought his year I am tempted to do it earlier... like today? lol! Your idea of leaving greenery out for January is a fabulous idea! Love the greens with berries! I've actually had thoughts of tulips and Spring the past couple of days too... lol!

I leave all the greens up, mittens out, and bring in a nice old red sled and all my snowmen! I hate to see the season end.

Beautiful!!!
Not sure what to keep out for the remainder of the winter months.
I really hate to see it go ~ was just to short this year.

Hi Jen... I 'm with you. Its such a hustle/bustle time of year, I relish the time to enjoy the decorations after the big day is over. I leave the tree up till after the New Year; then one day it gets put away. I usually leave other decorations up into January though.
Happy New Year to you & yours1

That's a great idea Jen and it all looks so beautiful!
I usually leave my Christmas decorations up for quite some time after the New Year because I just love it all. I think this time I'll put some away right after the New Year and keep a few things related to Winter out.

Blessings, Audrey

Good idea. Next year I will leave some greenery out until Feb. I did leave out a red wicker basket filled with pine cones and one blue santa though.

I put everything away but now you have me thinking maybe a few naturals would make things feel a little less "empty" after all the holiday sparkle is gone. Your home is always inspirational!! ~Kriss~

This year has been very different for us due to moving. We did have the Nativity up and our tree with lights only no ornaments, our prim wreath on the front door and battery operated candles scattered here and there. It was most enjoyable but has all been taken down as we are still trying to get settled in. For us Christmas is really not over until the 3rd Sunday after Christmas which is the Baptism of the Lord. I Love prolonging it with out the hustle and bustle and of course the religious significance is heart warming. Am still trying to squeeze in an occasional x-stitch for my current endeavor with very little success. Love visiting your Blog ... it gives me much comfort and inspiration.
Happy New Year to All with Peace,
Barb
