Luke's new bed......

Luke's old/new 100 year old iron bed....This was Taylor's first bed also, but then it was white....Somewhere along the line Tim had it sandblasted and now its down to it's natural color of a dark gray...Here it is with a new black coverlet that I bought back in October 2009 before that pattern was retired...So now all I need to get is some pillows and some linen pillow covers....We also got new mattresses and were amazed when they arrived how tall they are on the bed...I can barely get on it because it is so tall, but Luke has not trouble scaling the mountain...LOL....And then I added the shaker cabinet I had done for his room that was purchased at Michael's with my 40% off coupon back last Fall....Topped with a candle holder with a battery candle in it...And the bed stays made up perfectly because he doesn't even sleep in there...LOL...He just plays with his toys on it...

Awwww!..He just came to the front door where I'm on the computer and threw me a kiss through the storm door and scurried off to continue spending  time with his daddy in the garage!!...I LOVE that sweet boy of mine!!!

I hope you're having a great Saturday...It has rained some and the temp is glorious!!!...Thank you LORD for some rain and a wonderful day to open windows!!

Until next time!!~~hugs,Jen

I love the bed and the coverlet! So nice to have something passed down and fits into your decor :)

My daughter who is 7 now, comes to me at least a hundred times a day and say's 'Mommy, I LOVE you', gives me a hug and runs off to play some more. I just love it!

Beautiful! My very old childhood bed is just like that, only its black now. Somewhere along the way, it was painted. It was dark green when I slept on it, so my Daddy must have decided to paint it after I left home. It has been willed back to me, so I will have it again one day.
Luke's room looks so prim and wonderful.
Have a great weekend!

Love Luke's new bed & bedding! I always loved receiving those sweet little kisses from my kids when they were just little one's! Now, they're all grown up, but I still get my kisses from them whenever we're together!

Have a great day!

Blessings,
~Lynn

The big boy room looks great. The bed reminds me of the one I have in storage that belonged to my great-great grandparents. Your post made me a tad misty remembering my little boy (now 20) blowing kisses as he scurried off to play. It's the little things that make life great!

THE BED IS GORGEOUS! AND SO IS THE COVERING...I LOVE OLD BEDS AND I BET LUKE THINKS IT'S MORE LIKE A GAME GETTING UP INTO IT! lol

How precious - I think little boys have such a sweet heart...I had 3 and they were all very warm.

I have an old bed too ( my and my sister's childhood pineapple bed ) and it is high off the ground also, great for a couple of senior citizens like my husband and I. They weren't made for box springs, just a thin mattress. It's neat how you guys redid it to suit both children!
His first Big Boy bed, awwww, that brings back memories. All he had to do is scoot up on the trunk and he's in his own little world! :) Boys are so much fun.
Have a great rest of the weekend!

Enjoy those little boy kisses while you can, because they sure grow fast! Mine's 18 already and about to graduate high school in a month and a half!

Great!! The room looks amazing. I have the same coverlet in my room, I bought mine from Janet of Winter Willow Primitives and I love it. The kisses from our little boys are the best, I'm in love with my 4yrs old son. Everyday, my baby boy said several times during the day "mami te amo", which means (Mommy,I love you).

The bed is beautiful and the coverlet too.
Our beds are high. My son (19 now) used to climb onto the "Island" (bed) every night. The blown kisses will be such a fond memory.
